A WORD ABOUT "PRICES".
Why are current models prices the same everywhere?

You may have noticed, that ALL online tennis retailers seem to be selling Current Model racquets for the same prices. It's no coincidence! They are required to do so, by the manufacturers. All current models must be listed in ALL ADVERTISING with the price the manufacture stipulates. Thus these M.A.P. (Minimum Advertised Price) racquets are priced the same everywhere on the Internet. Dealers are not even allowed to list these racquets with the phrase "Call Us For Best Price"! Tennis Menace like every other online retailer is required by manufacturers to follow the rules. Thus we have decided to NOT list most current models of racquets with these restrictions in place. We will always provide a better price, but you need to simply ASK us for a price.

All racquet stringing is done by the owner, an engineer with 49 years stringing Exp. many of them as a U.S.R.S.A. (Master Racquet Technician). Choose from our massive selection of 500+ strings. ARE RACQUETS NEW?

Racquets are listed in individual groupings by Brand & in Alphabetical order are all Brand New, unless otherwise indicated. At the top of the page we have some mixed categories of WOOD, RARE, & Budget, Racquets followed with our ALPHABETICAL LISTINGS, by brand, down below. We strive to have the lowest price on any racquet we offer. If you find a lower price for the identical item, please let us know about it.

All our racquets, whether New or Used come with a warranty. Our used racquets have their conditions specified and none exhibit any structural wear. They differ only in the cosmetic condition of their paint. Those listed in Mint condition appear to be Brand New to the naked eye. Those listed as A1 condition show only extremely lite, minor signs of use. Excellent condition racquets have normal signs of usage, that is somewhat more visible & comensurate with their age. Good condition racquets show their usage more extensively, & are still in Perfect Structural Condition. Remember all come with a Warranty.

None of the racquets offered are in need of New Grommets, Headguards or grips. They are all ready for the installation of strings & then play. Beware of eBay sellers, listing racquets described as "like New", which may end up being extremely beat up. Many racquets sold on ebay are so badly damaged, that they can't be properly strung. Don't get taken! It's not that the sellers are neccessarily being dishonest, while some are. Many sellers simply don't know how to thoroughly check a racquet for any defects, or damage. As an Authorized New Racquet Dealer, with our reputation on the line, our descriptions are 100% accurate.

We do not routinely list items that are not available, however items that are not listed may be available, so it doesn't hurt to ask us. Tennis Menace Specializes in "Impossible to Find Items", be it a Racquet, String, Grommet or Grip, when no one else can supply it, we often are able to do so. When you contact Tennis Menace, you are not dealing with an Order Taker, but are actually speaking with the Owner, who will take all the time you need to discuss any issues you may have. COLLECTOR WOOD RACQUETS
The following are Brand New / Never Used WOOD racquets from the 1970's - 80's. These include racquets made in the USA or in the case of the Dunlop Maxply, the UK. Unlike other examples of these racquets that you'll find, often on ebay listed as "New Other", which 9 times out of 10 turn out to be "lightly used racquets", that to the untrained eye appear to be NEW, these racquets are IN BRAND NEW & UNUSED Condition, with their Original leather grips. BANCROFT
Bancroft was the brand of racquet that Bjorn Borg used inside the U.S. back during his rivalry with John McEnroe. He used a Donnay racquet everywhere else. This was back in the days of wood racquets. McEnroe made the move to Graphite, the Max 200G. Borg chose to simply retire. Bancroft went on to market graphite racquets, before fading away. Not sure when. They made a comback a few years back, although I am not sure of their status at present.

Gosen racquets are quite rare! Gosen is predominently known as a String Manufacture. One of only two located in Japan. They manufacture string not only to be sold under their own brand name, but are also a supplier of strings for many of the racquet manufactures, to name a few: Head, Wilson, & Yonex. Back in the 90's when Yamaha decided to leave the racquet business, due to the cost of paying patent royalties to Prince, Gosen purchased the molds to Yamaha Secret Racquets. As soon as the Prince patents ran out, they started to produce both clones of the Yamaha's called "Gosen Secrets", but they also released a few models that were close copies of the Head TiS6 (called the Carbon-01), & TiS5 (called the Carbon-02). Realize that this was just after Head discontinued their Austrian Production of the Ti. Series. Gosen made these limited edition racquets in Japan, with quality at least equal to the racquets Head made in Austria. Do not confuse these with a later Head Ti. racquets made in CHINA.

ROSSIGNOL
While out of production for many years, Rossignol racquets, made by the famous ski manufacturer, are literally works of art. They feature a design concept that results in the center 10 mainstrings being the same length, which results in a more defined and centered sweetspot. These French made sticks are on the other end of the quality spectrum, compared to run of the mill racquets made today, which are almost all (excepting some of the Yonex's) made in China. Yes China, where they seem to have no problems POISONING their own Milk & our Dog Chews, to make a fast buck. Tennis Menace has become aware of problems many Rossignol racquets have, due to the age of their Grommets. The plastic used to make them did not age well, & it can become brittle. We carefully check all of our NEW & USED racquets, to see if their grommets need replacement. If so, we either install new Grommets, if available, or we install our Custom Grommets.
